Animale is one of the most popular new dining place in Jakarta. It is located in MD Place 11th floor, Setia Budi, South Jakarta. They are offering progressive American cuisine with flavors from the Mediterranean. Mostly the ambience of the whole restaurant is filled with dimmed light. The main concept of this restaurant is “Habitat“ which inspired by ocean vibes, land vibes, and mountain vibes for the smoking area. As I came here at dinner time, we had to made a reservation a few days before due to the high demand from people to try this new sophisticated dining place in town. Since the concept of this restaurant is a fine dining, the price range is predictable. The average spending for each person is around IDR 300.000 – 600.000.
I heard a very impressive review about their bone marrow pasta, then I decided to try their signature menu. Basically it is a mac and cheese served in a big bowl and the unique thing is.. it comes with a bone marrow which improve the texture of the pasta. The waiter will help you to put the bone marrow on top of your pasta.
And I had cheese tart for my dessert, to be honest it was the best cheese tart I ever had in my life. They are using camembert and blue cheese and mix it with cream in a good way. The cheese tart is a new flavor for me, I never find this kind of taste in everywhere else.
Their platting is similar with the restaurant’s atmosphere. Service was excellent, waiters very well trained, they are really helpful and know every ingredients on the menu very well. Overall, it is such an unique and impressive experience to had dinner in Animale. Make sure you have your reservation on your hands before you come to the restaurant especially during week end. I definitely will come back to try another menu.
